The Friendly Giant Do It Yourself Connections
How to set-up Windows XP to connect to your new account with The Friendly Giant.
Open Internet Explorer, click on TOOLS on the main menu and choose INTERNET OPTIONS from the drop-down menu.
A new window with the title Internet Options will open.
Click on the CONNECTIONS tab, then on the SETUP.. button to start the Internet Connection Wizard.
Click on NEXT to start the wizard.
Select CONNECT TO THE INTERNET, then click NEXT.
Select SET UP MY CONNECTION MANUALLY, then click NEXT.
Select CONNECT USING A DIAL-UP MODEM, then click NEXT.
In the ISP NAME box, enter the following DIAL THE FRIENDLY GIANT, then click NEXT.
In the Phone number box, enter 0198333550, then click NEXT.
In the User name box, enter your username@giant.net.au. You can ignore the password boxes (Windows XP will not remember them if entered at this stage), take the tick out of the box beside "Make this the default internet connection", leaving the other two boxes with ticks, then click NEXT.
Put a tick in the box beside "Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop", then click on FINISH.
You should now a short-cut on your desktop, with the DIAL THE FRIENDLY GIANT.
Click on this icon, enter your password and then DIAL to connect to your account with us.
For Windows 98/95/ME users
1. Open the Dial-up networking folder (visible from MY COMPUTER)
2. Create a new entry for The Friendly Giant
3. Enter the phone number: 0198333550
Dial the new connection using your username@giant.net.au and password all in lower case

Checking your Time Remaining:
To check your time remaining, go to http://www.giant.net.au and click on the "User Stats" button.
You will need your username/loginame and your password.
Ordering More Internet Time:
To order more Internet Time, go to our web page and click on the "E-Store" button. The first time you use the store you need to register your details
Using Mail Tools:
If you are having trouble checking your mail, or want to check your Friendly Giant mail from anywhere in the world, you can do it using our home page. Click on the "New Web Mail" button and enter your username and password.
