The Friendly Giant How-To
Change To Us From Another Internet Service Provider

Instead of downloading the dialup kit, you can make some changes to your current ISP setup to use The Friendly Giant.

Firstly you need to create a new dialup networking entry with The Friendly Giant phone number.  To do this, double click "My computer", double click "Dial up Networking", double click "Make New Connection"  You need to name the connection first.  Call it something like "The Friendly Giant Internet", then click "Next".  

• You need to enter the phone number:   0198 308 800

That's all you need to do to create a dialup entry.  You may want to create a shortcut to this entry on your desktop.

Test your dialup entry by double clicking on it and entering in the username and password you received when you registered online.

Open your Web Browser after you are connected.

Netscape Communicator:

Go to the "Edit" option on the menu, then "Preferences", select "Navigator" from the list of settings on the left hand side, there is a section labelled "Home Page"..change this to:  http://www.giant.net.au

Click on the "Home" button to test whether the browser goes to The Friendly Giant homepage.

Internet Explorer:

Go to the "View" option in the menu, then "Internet Options", under the "General" tab, you can enter the home page of The Friendly Giant, http://www.giant.net.au
