Publishing your Web Page is Easy

Please Note:  This is only for Friendly Giant User Accounts NOT Domains We host

Please Note:  First you must send mail to support@giant.net.au   and ask us to setup your home directory.

You can publish your own web page on The Friendly Giant's Web Site.

To upload your files to our web server, you need to first have an FTP program.  We recommend WSFTP.  You should already have WS_FTP installed if The Friendly Giant setup your machine for you.

WS_FTP

Open WS_FTP, you will be presented with a "Session Properties" window.  Click on the button labelled "New ".  Under the "Profile Name" field, enter a name for you to remember the Site by..ie "The Friendly Giant FTP Server".  Under this there is a field labelled "Host Name/Address", type in users.giant.net.au in the host address field.  Leave Host Type on "Automatic Detect"; The next field is "User ID" this is for your loginame/username with The Friendly Giant.  The next field is "Password" be sure to untick the "Anonymous" tickbox then enter your password for your Friendly Giant Internet Account.   Then click "OK".

After a while you will see text on the right hand side of the screen under "Remote File System", this means you are connected and can down/upload files by double-clicking them or using the "->" and "<-" buttons.

CuteFTP

Open CuteFTP, you will probably be presented with a list of sites.  Click on the button labelled "Add Site".  Under the "Site Label" field, enter a name for you to remember the Site by..ie "The Friendly Giant FTP Server".  Under this there is a field labelled "Host Address", type in users.giant.net.au in the host address field.  The next field is "User ID" this is for your loginame/username with The Friendly Giant.  The next field is "Password"..enter your password for your Friendly Giant Internet Account.   Then click "OK".

Highlight your new entry in the list on the right hand side of the screen and click "Connect".
