Sunday  Liturgy  Review

The group that prepares the Sunday Liturgy might well review the previous Sunday’s Liturgy at its next meeting. Not to review our planning and work is a sign of carelessness.

The purpose of a Review is to encourage improvement; the intention is not to discourage people and the efforts they are making. Sensitivity is required in sharing the findings of a Review.

Questions  like  the  following might  be  used in  a  Review:

General:    How did it go?

                    Was it prayerful?

Was it a learning experience for people?

What was the sense of community like?

                    Attendance?

                    Quality of participation?

What was the mood like at the end of the Liturgy?

                    Did you hear any feedback?

In view of this review what might we do next time?

Specific:         Music and Singing?  Does it need to improve?   How?

Reading?        Were the readings proclaimed well, communicating

                                                             understanding and appropriate emotion?

Was the responsorial psalm led prayerfully, with a different tone?

Was the Prayer of the Faithful done well?

                       Leadership of the Liturgy?

Reflections after the Readings?     Engaging, relevant introductory story?

                                                                                    Good insights?

                                                                                    Well communicated?

                                                                                    Did people benefit?
